Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after Military engineering, and it was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering. It is traditionally broken in to several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geo technical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, surveying etc. Civil engineering takes place on all levels; from Govt., Semi Govt, state & urban bodies to private sector and MNC`s.
